How we review insurance content

Who reviews our pages
Costas Matheou, licensed insurance agent and co-founder of DigiCare, reviews every product page, quote page and guide before it goes live. His credentials are on his author page.
He is currently the only reviewer; we have no lawyer or actuary on the team yet. Until we do, every legal and tax statement links directly to the law or official source it comes from.
Which sources we use
We check facts against Greek law and the Government Gazette (ΦΕΚ, et.gr), the Bank of Greece, gov.gr and EU law on EUR-Lex.
How we source prices
A price on our site comes from a written quote by the insurer, never from an estimate. Each price shows the date of the quote and the risk profile behind it (for a car, for example: driver age, vehicle, postcode). Prices are indicative: your premium depends on your details. Quoted prices include Greek insurance premium tax, which is about 15% for most non-life cover and 20% for fire cover (Law 4334/2015).
Which insurers we name
We only name an insurer that is authorised to sell insurance in Greece, either licensed in Greece or licensed in another EU country and notified to sell in Greece. We check this against the Bank of Greece register before the insurer appears on a page.
How often we re-check facts
The "Updated" date on a page changes only when the content changes in substance: a fact, a price, a rule or a new section. Fixing a typo does not change it.
First-hand experience in guides
Guides are written in Costas's voice. Personal experience appears only where Costas has confirmed it. On legal and tax topics there are no anecdotes, only sourced facts.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to research, draft and prepare the language versions of pages. AI never sets a price, decides what a policy covers or publishes a page. A draft cannot be published until every fact has been checked against the sources above and Costas has reviewed it. Automated checks also block wording we do not allow, such as "cheapest", "guaranteed" or "covers everything".
Which websites we link to
We link to official sources so you can check a fact yourself. We do not link to other brokers or agencies, to insurers' sales pages or to comparison sites. Every external link opens in a new tab.
What our pages are not
Our pages explain how insurance works in Greece and what a policy covers. They are not personal legal, tax or medical advice. For a decision that depends on your own situation, ask us for a quote and read the insurer's documents before you buy.
How we are paid
DigiCare is an insurance agency. The insurer pays us a commission, which is already part of the premium; you pay no extra fee for a quote. The commission does not change what a page says about cover, exclusions or price.
Report an error
If you find a mistake, e-mail us with the page address and what you think is wrong, or use our contact page. We check your report against the source. If the page was wrong, we correct it, and if the correction is substantive the "Updated" date changes.
