Legal information
Registration
We sell in Greece online only, under the EU freedom to provide services (Directive (EU) 2016/97, the Insurance Distribution Directive, transposed by Law 4583/2018, Article 12(6)). We have no company, office or staff in Greece.
Under this framework, our home regulator, the ICCS, notifies the Bank of Greece. The Bank of Greece is the host supervisory authority for that notification and applies the Greek general-good rules to sales made here.
We do not have a Greek registration number, a Greek tax number or an office in Greece.
How to verify our registration
Check our entry, and any insurer's, directly with the regulators before you buy.
How we're paid, and what we advise on
- The insurer named in your offer pays us a commission. It is already included in your premium; you pay nothing extra to us.
- We advise you on the products we distribute. We do not give independent advice across the whole insurance market.
- We are not an insurer. The insurer named in your offer underwrites your policy and pays valid claims. You can check that insurer is authorised in Greece on the Bank of Greece register of insurance undertakings.
How to complain
Three routes, depending on what your complaint is about.
DigiCare Insurance Greece is run by the same licensed agent as our Cyprus site, digicare-insurance.com, which sells insurance in Cyprus under the same ICCS licence.
